Peaches??
« on: February 12, 2008, 01:25:15 am »
Ok...this is the strangest thing. I make my own baby food and recently purchased some fresh peaches to puree for my DS. They were pretty soft so I didn't bake or boil them or anything. I just chopped up and pureed if after I took the skin off. He loved them but the weirdest thing happened. He had them for lunch the first time last Mon and Tues. On both those days, he completely refused his pm nap which he had never done before. I didn't think anything of it and I also forgot about the peaches so he didn't have them again until Friday for supper. Well, Friday night he would not go to bed until 8:30 when he normally goes down at 6-6:15!

He napped/slept fine on the days where he didn't have peaches. Do you think there is possibly something in them like some sort of sugar or something that would cause this?? I'm guessing it's just a coincidence and I'm afraid to give him peaches again! ;)

7mths is suggested for raw peaches, so it may have been a problem on his tummy.
Also, you said it was soft and if it was quite soft, that is a sign of inner decay.

He probably just had an upset tummy.

Or it could be coincidence. Try again in a few weeks and see what happens.

Thanks Jonahs Mom-I never thought of inner decay. The only thing is that he wasn't fussy or anything and didn't seem in any type of pain. He just seemed giddy and hyper! Very weird...oh well...maybe just a funky batch of peaches! I'll try again when I'm brave enough! ;)
