eating barely 1/4th of normal diet
« on: February 13, 2008, 22:19:12 pm »
hi
my dd is a good eater, or was  ... but yesterday and today she has barely eaten anything.

i let one day pass, thinking it will be ok today. but today she has had:
on waking - bf
breakfast - 1 banana+ 4oz milk with cereal
snack - 4oz yoghurt
lunch - 1 tspn bite veggies
dinner - 1/2 biscuit

i have tried to give her fruit/ bread/ strained puree of veggies -- all which she eats normally. she has had nothing.

i am terribly worried thinking that it is now two days that she ate well.

 :'(what do i do?

I wouoldnt worry too much hun....they do start doing this at her age...BUT if you arereally worried about go see your GP/Health visitor, even if it is only to put your mind at rest..

Has she been doing anything new recently? Sometimes when they pick up a new skill or get a new toy they lose interest in their food...

Hugs hun  :-*  :-*

I agree with Vicki - my usual theory is they'll eat when they're hungry.  My ds might not eat much for a day or two and then he'll make up for it at lunch and supper day 3.  That being said, if you are worried head to the doc but I don't think a day or two is uncommon for kids to not eat as much.

thank you for your replies :-\
i checked for any new teeth.. nothing.

if this no-eating pattern continues tomorrow as well, then i will take her to the doc.

hello ladies,
the last two days have been better, but still much less than what she used to eat.

i think it is a case of entering toddlerhood, t/f eating less :'(

the previous two days must have been the re-setting days   :(

i miss the happy eating times  :( :(
