Thoughts on a 2 1/2 nap on 4 hour easy?
« on: February 19, 2008, 13:37:18 pm »
If your LO go down early during the first A time do you allow them to sleep later, say like 2 1/2 until their next feeding time? I was just wondering what your thoughts are on that. What about if they wake early. I don't want to shift the whole schedule up too much because I don't want to put him to bed early because then he'll just wake up early tomorrow too, right?

Hi there...a few posts like this today so there must be some wonky sleep dust in the air!

The general principle is that you need to make up the lost sleep hours somewhere..either during the day or if that fails - at night.  So if rising early or missing the first nap - try and catch up that sleep during the day.  If it doesn't work out that way, then early to bed.  Early to bed doesn't mean that they wake up earlier...because you are still working on the fact that they get 'x' hours of sleep in a 24 hour period.  If they don't get their minimum sleep requirement they become OT and then that builds up and creates NWs.  Does that make sense?
