7 week old won't sleep!
« on: March 13, 2008, 12:00:42 pm »
I have a 7 week old daughter who up until recently slept good at night, just waking twice to eat. I could put her right back down and she would go back to sleep. The last 3 days I've tried to get her on a steady routine and get her taking her naps in her bassinet instead of her bouncy seat. But she won't go to sleep during the naps. I stay with her and pat.shh her for 1-1 1/2 hr and by that time, it's time for her to eat again. I put her down and soon as she yawn's so I know she's not overtierd. Since she's not getting good naps, nighttime has been awful. I put her to bed and she'll sleep till midnight, then she's up every half hour to hour. I pat/shh her for what seems like forever, but she's wide awake. What do I do? Should I just let her nap in her seat if she's sleeping good instead of trying to force the bassinet/crib on her? I can't stay up all night again another night! Help!

Yep, absolutely IMO, why not?

My DS who's now 12 weeks - takes all his naps in his pushchair(stroller) and they can range from 30 mins to 4 hours.  He sleeps at night in a swaddle in his moses basket.

To me - the most important thing is that he gets his sleep

I'm just afraid that when she does get too big for it and I have to move her to her crib it's going to be that much harder! Also, when I tried to give her a dreamfeed 2 nights ago, she ate about  and ounce and a half, when she was done and I put her back down, she woke up and stayed up for 2 hours. I don't think the dreamfeed is going to work for her, or should I try again?
