My daughter has been sleeping great for months now but all of a sudden she sometimes refuses her second nap or has a hard time going down for it. The last few days she has gone down fine for both naps but then when we go to put her to bed for the night she freaks out and it has taken us 2 hours to get her to sleep when normally she just goes to sleep on her own. Here is her schedule:
Wake: 6:45
Bottle: 7:15
Breakfast 8:30ish
Nap 9:30-11:00
Bottle 11:15
Lunch 12:45ish
Nap 2:30-3:15
Bottle 3:30
Dinner: 5:30
Bed: 7:00
Yesterday I thought I'd try cutting her second nap to 45 minutes. That went fine but then she got up 3 times last night! Ugh! So is that a sign that she NEEDS her naps for good night time sleep or just a weird fluke??
She is always VERY tired by the time her first nap comes around, but not as much for the second. Are these signs that I need to go to 1 nap? And if so how do I do it? Should I cut the second nap short and try pushing off her first one till a little later until she is down to one? Could there be some other problem that I am missing?
