Reusable breast pads
« on: May 30, 2008, 17:17:48 pm »
Does anyone use these? Mine say they have a slip proof back but have fallen out twice today and i only just bought them.
Any tips on how to keep them in? Double sided sticky tape seems excessive.

The are Avent ones and the box says non slip lace backs, but like I say it dropped out in the kitchen and yes it probably is too small as my boobs are currently running at an H cup!!!!!

I used some with first bub and they would move at night, defeating the whole purpose of protecting the mattress from over-full breasts!
I am looking at Lily padz, which apparently stick the breast.

I have a pair of Lily Padz.  I use them for special occasions.  I love them - No leaks at all, and no movement.  Even after a let down after a glass of champagne during  a wedding, no milk came out anywhere, they apply a lot of pressure over the nipple.  Very comfortable - I have even worn them under a strapless dress without a bra.
These are great to wear to bed, too.  They say they can be worn continuously, but I've never tried.

I use reusable ones. I do find they move a bit and have occasionally found they slip out, but not that often. I just make sure I check them regularly.

Does having too small a bra mean they fall out?

I also used Avent reusable ones  but they had a tendency to migrate :-\ (and I have a modest size chest!  ;) )   I went back to disposable ones in the end.

I am back on disposbales at the moment. I can't use them through the night and quite often my let down is too much for them!! Hopefully after they have been washed a few times they will be better.

yeah i might end up there too, but the reusable pads only cost me $2.86!
Going to try home-brand disposables too, never know ur luck

I found out recently that you stop the flow of a let down on the other side by pressing hard on the nipple. Pretty sure it works as I did it for 2 whole days and the pads were much drier!  Might help with reusables.

Just thought I'd let you all know my disposables are becoming useful again now that the worst of the spluttering is over. They're great when they just have to catch drips.
