Anyone use "Organics" brand baby cereals? (Canada)
« on: June 06, 2008, 16:17:18 pm »
Just wondering if anyone uses the Organics brand infant cereal by president's Choice for their lo?
I was out looking at all of the boxes today and I want a cereal that I can use formula in instead of water and  found the Organics. Noticed that it has very little ingredients compared to the other cereals. Just wanted to know if anyone uses it and if it has enough iron in it as I noticed that it is lower than some others.

I used it with my DD2, also because it had so few ingredients.  She had a reaction to rice and it turns out she can't have cereals at all because they make her reflux worse, so I can't 'vouch' for it either way.  That being said, the RDI for iron in infants 7-12 months is 11mg, but cereal doesn't have to be their only source of iron.  IMO, you are better adding other iron-rich foods and using an organic cereal with less ingredients than using some potentially chemical laden infant cereal.

HI,
We use PC organics cereal mixed with Breast Milk.  I am not sure about the amount of iron....but if you are mixing it with formula, I am sure that will increase the iron in it anyhow.  Our LO enjoys both the rice and rice and oats.

Ah :) we Mods have a board to request advice off each other when we can't help a poster with their query, it's not visible to non-Mods :)

Hi,
My little one will soon be 8 months old and I have used "My Organic Baby" line of formula as well as cereals for her since the beginning. I have purchased them at "Shoppers Drug Mart stores in Mississauga so I am assuming they have them in all their stores across Canada.  I loved the fact that the cereals could be used with her formula in it and that it came from a purely Organic line of infant products.  We have also used all of their fruits and vegetable and meat jars and she has loved them all.
Have a great day.
