Hi
Our 7mo lo was diagnosed with secondary lactose intolerance approximately 2 1/2 months ago. We saw a specialist who advised we give him SMA LF formula on prescription for 2 months and then gradually wean him off this back onto formula containing lactose. We were advised to try this ounce by ounce so I have made up 8 oz bottles with 7 ounces of LF formula and 1 oz of his regular formula. If this is then successful with no recurrence of symptoms then we are to up it to 2 ounces etc.
My question is how long do I need to stick with 1 oz with before we move on to 2 oz? 24 hours or longer? Three days? Does anyone have experience of this? I really hope this is now the end of this as I am so tired of looking so carefully at packets and jars of baby food to see the ingredients. Although I make most of his food myself, I have had to omit all dairy products from recipes!
Thanks in advance.
Jo
