When you say he doesn't like it, what does he do?  Still have a tongue thrust? It could just be that he isn't used to using his mouth that way - it's a totally different action to swallowing milk.

You could try varying the texture. Make it slightly runnier?

At this age it's more of a taste rather than replacing a feed so it doesn't really matter if he isn't too keen at the moment.

I'd try something different and maybe try carrots again in a few weeks. I dont blame him for not liking carrots - I dont like them either!!

Are they fresh carrots or jarred/tinned?

Maybe add a small amount to his cereal?

i find that DD responds much better to the fresh rather than the jar when it comes to certain foods. if its jarred, maybe steam some carrots and mash those? you might get a better response.

You could also try a combo of say carrot & squash, see if he takes to foods his not keen on slowly.

btw, I love the grossed out face and body shake it is too funny, DD still does it but its much cuter on a LO  :)

What if they like cereal at first, then reject it?  I'm assuming it's because it's bland compared to the veggies and fruit, but I don't really know. :-\

Hi,

My DS used to have stages where he would be on and off the cereal so maybe it could be that. You could try mixing some of the cereal with the veges. My DS is 10 months now and we still rotate between 3 different cereals for breakfast time.

HTH.
