Sterilising bottles after 12 months
« on: July 23, 2008, 09:30:34 am »
Hi,

My DS is 13 months now and has 6-7oz of cow's milk in the morning in a beaker, but he still has a 7oz bottle of formula in the evening before he goes to bed and I am still sterilising the bottle.  Do I need to still sterilise this evening bottle now he is over 12 months?  I was told its because of the bacteria that forms quickly in formula milk that you have to keep sterilising bottles.  I will be switching him soon to cow's milk before bed but am just unsure about the sterilising thing.

I am guessing you can't give formula milk in an unsterilised beaker?

Thanks for any advice.

Over the age of 1 is fine to stop sterilising.  andrew has a bottle of formula at daycare.  any left over is just left.  He downs the milk pretty quickly.

Hot wash in the dishwasher (if you have one, should be just fine)

There - one less job to do!!
