Is she ready to drop the last nap?
« on: August 02, 2008, 08:53:10 am »
My little girl is 2years, 3 months and for the last few months her sleeping has been a bit different. Shes always been great at taking her nap and sleeps for about an hour to 90 mins, but her bedtime has become later and later.

7am wake
1pm nap till 2.30pm
7.45pm bedtime (but doesn't fall asleep till 9pm!)

I'm wondering if she isn't tired enough at bedtime because she's getting too much sleep in the day, so should I drop her daytime nap and give her an early bedtime?

Perhaps try shortening the nap first before dropping it all together she is still pretty young to be doing that.

We shortened the nap by having a time that we woke DS by, eg 2pm, then 1.45, then 1.30 etc. We are currently working on a nap of 40 mins max and waking by 1.15 so that he is asleep for about 8.30. Getting a bit messy now though as he isn't extending his night sleep so really needs a nap. These tranistions are always a nightmare!
