please don't move this to props, I need some sleep help! ( all my swaddle questions seem to get moved over there so I wanted to be sure this one didn't)

how do I help her learn to get through the trasition with one arm out.  she was taking 2 2 hour naps and then a cat nap before we started this.  she is rolling now so we have no choice but to wean.  it is to hot for sleeping bags (100+ degrees in the afternoon).  she is doing ok and eventually gets to sleep but she is having trouble transitioning sleep cycles without waking.  tonight she fought me the whole time I swaddled her and the reswaddled her when she woke because of rolling.  so any Idea or helpw oudl be great on how I can help her to transition.  TIA

Melissa, my dd di the same thing.  I used sleeping wedges to prevent her rolling over and she was swaddled until she was 13 months old.  If dd sleeps well with it, maybe just keep swaddling her  :-*

I have thought about the wedge, but she is also breaking out of it a few times a night so It hink it would be better to try to get her through the transition and hope she gets the idea quickly.  Thanks for the idea though!

what time do you go in for W2S, at 30 min right??

We went in between 25 and 30.  I used it with the swaddle and it worked great so figured it was worth a try without.  Basically I lifted her shoulders VERY gently as she didn't stir with stroking etc.  She obviously jerked much more without teh swaddle which was a bit alarming ;) but it did help us get past short naps :)

Just curious, how old is your LO?  My LO is now 7.5 months and we just weaned from swaddle before he turned 7 months.  We had Miracle Blanket which allowed us to remove legs for a while before moving to 1 arm out.  He seemed to tolerate it much better.  We tried for the first time when he was 4 months old and again at 6 months, but he just wasn't ready.  I totally understand what you mean about the rolling over because that was a huge fear for me.  One suggestion would be to give her a small stuffed animal (my son had a little bunny that I could tuck in his free arm so that it wasn't flailing all over) or lovie.  Gradually he became more comfortable with it and we just decided to try without the swaddle one night.  He slept through the night without waking!  I know how hard it is, but her safety/health is more important.  You are doing everything right, just stick with it and it will happen very soon.  Best of luck and keep us updated.
