Somethings happening to naps!
« on: August 11, 2008, 02:38:29 am »
Hi all

My lo Paige is 14 mo and is on one 1 nap per day (since 12 months). For the last 2 months, she has gone down for a nap at 12, and slept until 2:30pm..sometimes 3..without fail. She would not even chatter to herself when i put her down, just put her dummy in and rolled over and went straight to sleep. It was lovely for me to have such a good stretch of time in the day:)

But the last week or so, she has been chatting to herself in the cot and takes about 30 mins to fall asleep, and then only sleeps for an hour, or hour and a half....and im not sure why.

I thought that maybe she as she is now used to getting by on just one nap...maybe 12:30 or 1pm would be a good time to put her down? She goes to bed and STTN at around 7-7:30pm.

Any hints or tips anyone? maybe it's just a phase?

I would try putting her down at 12:15. Maybe she's not tired enough at 12 anymore?

Maybe its a developmental stage. She might just be starting to 'talk' and pracitising what she hears. It might be worth just moving her nap about 30 min on and 'rule out' that 30 min she uses chatting.
