EW - What's going on????? Help!
« on: August 19, 2008, 19:52:03 pm »
My LO has woken for the second day in a row at 5:00 in the morning. He is cheerful and happy but I am not.  :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( Both mornings I've hoped that it was just a NW for a feed and that perhaps there's a growth spurt, so I've fed him, but he has done it again this morning at exactly the same time. He is happy and chatty but AWAKE!!

Some details:

My Lo is a bad napper. He has between 2 and 3 hours of sleep all up each day in 35 min naps and sometimes one longer nap. He was waking somewhere between 6 and 7 and going down for the night somewhere between 7 and 7:30. He is hard to get down for the night and usually wakes 35 mins later which I treat as a night feed and he goes back down (usually). Last night he didn't and I had to do sh/pat from 8:00 until 8:30 after feeding him at 7:45. (His last feed had been at 5:00 due to EW). I always do his dream feed between 10 and 10:30. I'm not getting to sleep until 11:00-11:30, am doing a NF anywhere between 1:30 and 4:00. I was getting maybe 6 - 6.5 hours sleep with him waking generally around 6:30 but now I've lost about 1.5 hours of that and it 4.5 to 5 hours sleep. I can't function on this!!!

He is on 4 hour EASY and always has a NF. He has STTN only 3 times and never without a feed at around 5pm.

What could this be? He is happy and cheerful but really has only had 8.5 hours sleep last night.

Please can anyone help me?????????

Would he go back to sleep if you brought him in with you?

I only ask as Ryan used to wake about that time and I just used to bring him in to our bed (him in his sleeping bag, not in our duvet) and cuddled him and he would go right back off.  I didn't have to do this for too long, though can't quite remember how much now :P

Thanks for the idea, I actually ended up sorting it out by ignoring him the next day since he wasn't distressed and he hasn't woken that early since then, or if he has he's been quiet, chatted and then gone back to sleep by himself. Thank God!!

Good to hear! I always found it paid off to hold back to see if he could sort himself out!
