4-5 month baby and change of routine
« on: September 09, 2008, 16:48:26 pm »
My daughter has been on EASY since 2 weeks and loved it.  She has recently changed.  Her routine seems to have outgrown her.  She sleeps well at night but in the day I am lucky to get over 1 hour throughout the day.  She has now also got into a habbit of wanting the nipple to help her go to sleep.  Current routine:

7.00 wakes
7.30 eat
9.00 sleep (20 minutes)
10.00 eat
11.15 sleep (25 minutes)
13.00 eat
15.00 sleep (up to 45 minutes - sometimes 20 minutes)
16.00 eat
17.00 sleep (15 minutes)
18.30 bath
18.45 eat
19.00 sleep

I really dont know what to do anymore, she isnt yawning but she isnt happy and surely this isnt enough sleep.  perhaps I should be moving her to 2 x longer naps per day?  She also wont sleep in her cot in teh day (although loves it at night!)

Somewhere in the process your lo must have gotten OT.  How long have these 20min naps been going?

Their tired cues can get really unreliable at this age, so even though she isn't yawning she might still be tired.

I say you need to reduce her a times by 15 mins to start with and see if she can catch up on some sleep. When she's out of the OT cycle we''l see if she needs an increase in a times.
