When did you start w/pillow???

Hey everyone-
I'd like to know how old your LO was when you introduced a pillow.
Also, when did your LO choose one side of the bed/crib as the head of the bed consistently?

I started with a pillow for each kid around 1 yr. I used a small toddler sized one. They both started sleeping on the pillow and choosing one end of the bed around 2 yrs or so. We switched Tyler to a regular adult sized pillow around 3 yrs, after he was in the big boy bed.

Thanks- where did you find a toddler sized pillow? I haven't found any in the local shops...

DD had a toddler pillow at about a year as well...she still prefers it...DS was about 18 months with a full size. Both of mine "chose" they're end by about a year.

I found DD's toddler pillow at Jysk...I've seen them at Toys R' Us and Ikea too!

We got our toddler sized pillows at Pottery Barn Kids, but I know I've seen them elsewhere, just can't remember where! You can also use a small throw pillow, like the kind you'd use to decorate the sofa.

i just intorduced my son to one at 22 months.  He is getting a big boy bed for his 2nd b-day on the 24th.  I got him a reg sized pillow but a gel filled one so it's not super thinck and puffy. it molds around his head to the right fluffyness, it's  a great pillow and we are going to get the same ones for us too now.... they were about 20 bucks at sears.

I gave my son a pillow when he moved to a big boy bed at 25months, it is a really flat adult size pillow.

It's funny, one day you wake up and your LO is 14 months and doing so much...he loves our pillows, but they are fluffy goose down pillows and I'm thinking a flat or toddler pillow may be better to start...

mine got real pillows when they got big girl/boy beds - so 18 months & 17 months, respectively.  they were adult pillows, but they were reallllly flat. 

jaina started picking one end of her bed in the last year - so after 4YO.  Luke always slept at the right end of the bed.  he never moved much in his crib though.

my spirited little man- I never know what position I'll find him in- especially when he sleep walks...LOL

mine just started sleeping more in one position.  He used to toss and turn ALOT!  everytime i woul dlook at him he was in a different position at a different spot inhis bed.  Now since he is sleeping more at one end and not tossing as much i figured it was time.  He started a 6 week trend of NW's and i thought this also might help him be more comfy while sleeping.  It has worked so far, he enjoys it.
