6 weeks started proper EASY help please
« on: December 08, 2008, 23:07:57 pm »
Hello, I have been doing a loose EASY and now she is 6 weeks (well is tommorow) I think its time to start her properly

She seems doing the questionaire to be textbook but im not 100% because she gets over tierd so easily im not sure
She has reflux which is really bothering her and since we are seeing the dr this week its why we have decided to start the EASY (plus for the first time in 6 weeks shh/pat acctually worked lol)

So i have a few questions

Should I wake her at 7am? wouldnt waking her from sleep make her more tierd? or does it not work like that
is it just really setting her up for a good day iykwim

Currently she is waking between 5 and 6 not out of hunger as if i remeber to DF at 10/11 she sleeps till 4 and since she goes 3 hours between feeds no way is she hungry at 5
The time varies so its not habitual yet and i feed her and make her go back to sleep because we dont want her to get habitual with it

She then sleeps through till about 9ish would waking her at 7 to start the day then maybe extend her nightime sleep by that hour to bring her to 7?

I think if i wake her at 7 the EASY we would be looking at atm as she only seems to go 45min awake time atm (following her cues) would look like this

E on the hour
A 10 past the hour (max she is an extreamly effient feeder and i have fast let down)
S quarter to the Hour

sooooo trying to work it out for bed time would this kinda look right to bring her to a 7pm bedtime?

E 4
A 4.10
S 4.45

E 6.15
A 6.25 (bath time)
S 7

I know its differant to the BW suggested routine for this age but its worked off of the fact she struggles to stay awake past the 45 min mark and its not going to help making her conform and be OT
or would it?

It doesn't necessarily need to be 7, but it's best to wake her up at the same time everyday.  This will give more structure to your day too.  Don't worry if she can't go past the 45mins a time.  That means her routine will look something like this;

E 7
A
S 7.45-10.00

E 10
A
S 10.45-1.00

E 1.00
A
S 1.45-4.00 etc. etc.

You shoot for a 12hr day, but since your lo is struggling to stay awake for more than 45 you might make bedtime a bit earlier too.  To find her ideal bedtime keep moving it forward by 15mins every 3 days, until you find the bedtime which doesn't make her OT.  Or else you can go for a slightly longer catnap, as long as it doesn't interfere with her night sleep.
