Can you post your 11 or 12 month old schedules please?
« on: December 10, 2008, 17:22:30 pm »
I know I could look in the sample schedule forum but I didn't see too many 11 or 12 month schedules.
I'm really confusing myself on how to adjust my daughter's schedule. She is over 11 months and i'd like to start going towards 3 bottles a day. Plus I know she can stay up later between wake up and first naptime. The problem is, if I let her stay up too late, then she runs right into a feeding which screws things up. I hope this makes sense. Here's an example schedule for her:

6:30 am wake up and 8 oz bottle
7:00 am solids
Anytime between 9:30 am and 10:30 am she will go down for her first nap (45 min-1 1/2 hrs)
10:30 am 8 oz bottle
12:00 pm solids
Next nap really varies on time I put her down. Usually between 2 and 3 (45 min-1 1/2 hrs)
2:30 pm 8 oz bottle
5:30 pm solids
6:30 pm 8 oz bottle
7:00 or 7:30 pm sleep for the night

Can someone help me adjust? Thanks.

As they get older, their routine does tend to go a bit wonky  :-\

If she is still happy on 4 bottles a day you could split the 3rd bottle, i.e. half before her nap and the other half after.

Or if you are looking at dropping a bottle you could keep your first and last bottle at the same time, and then the afternoon bottle can be just before second nap.

My DD started the transition to 1 nap quite early, so we ended up splitting the bottle until she was full transitioned and then she had her second bottle after her nap as she was generally awake at around 2pm.

When transitioning to 1 nap, it can take their bodies some time to get used to it.

My DD transitioned at 10 months  :o and we had a few 2 nap days, but she generally naps from 12.  Some days we have 1.5 hours, somedays 2 and some days 3 it all depends on her.

I probably will start "encouraging" my daughter to go to one nap in another month or two if she hasn't already. The way it's going now, my poor older daughter is never getting out of the house because someone is always sleeping. The schedules seem to be baby naps, wakes up, older daughter naps, wakes up, baby naps, wakes up and then it's dinner time. So we can never go anywhere. Frustrating for all!!!

Hugs I know all about that.  My DS would alway say to me, "Mummy go wake Abi up" poor little man, he felt like she was always sleeping.

Keep us posted on how the transition goes.  Keep an eye out for th OT monster, as it can creap up so quickly.
