Hi there.  I'd extend his A time a bit and skip the catnap.  Most LOs his age can handle 3-4 hours of A time and are done with that catnap.  That being said, my DD2 would only sleep 1.25 hours each nap when we went to two naps a day, so you may not get super long naps again until he's eventually down to 1 nap.

HTH! :)

I agree with PP:  try to get down to 2 naps a day and cut out late afternoon catnap.  My five, almost six month old, has cut out the catnap for a few weeks now, so some babies can handle it.
Is he sleeping through the night?

Sometimes it can mean that the LO is OT... My DD1 always woke up crabby from her naps, but OT wasn't the cause.  I think it's just her personality.  I guess you have to look at how he's doing overall and see if it's a routine issue or a temperament issue, or maybe some SA.  That normally starts around 9 months, so maybe he wakes up and is upset that you're not with him. ???

hi, i  don't think he is OT today. He had two good naps and one catnap, the first nap was 2.10 hours  :o, the other one was 1.30 hours ;D and he also took a catnap because  he was a little >:(so i decided to gave him a catnap and he slept 45 min ;D, so i don't know why he sleeps one day good and the other really bad, Today he had 2.30 hours Activity  i guess that is a good mark for him, i m going to try tomorrow and see what happens.........

I know doing away with the catnap is the ideal at this age, but we regularly have to do a catnap as my LO doesn't take long naps.  He takes 30 mins -1 hr in the morning and 30 mins - 1hr 20 mins  in the afternoon.   His daytime naps are around 2hrs daily, sometimes less.  On the days when he takes a short morning nap or a short pm nap or both, we definitely have to do a catnap to stop him getting OT before bed (if we do a too early bed, we get EW).  So what I'm trying to say is that sometimes, particularly on shorter nap days, a catnap is probably a good idea to prevent OT.   IMO, there is no point in not doing a catnap and ending up with a very OT baby, just for the sake of "catnap should be dropped" at this age!  If you have a baby that doesn't take long naps, there is not much alternative IMO until they can handle longer A times.
That's just what I've found from personal experience.
Napping 2hrs per day is a good day for me :)  Some babies just don't need as much sleep.  I've battled with it for months and have finally come to realise that he's just not going to nap anywhere the same amount as other babies!
