Hi and welcome!  Congrats on the new baby!

I wouldn't worry about a set wake time for a few months... especially if this is your only LO and you don't have to wake her purposely.  If you do have to go out, you could try waking her one hour before you have to leave, feeding her just before you leave, and then putting her in the carseat so that she'll have a snooze while you're out and about (and that kinda maintains the EASY order of doing things).

At this age, just try to keep eating and sleeping separate and very little stimulation during activity time (which includes all eating, changing, diapering, winding down time).

When my DD was born, I didn't impose a set wake or bedtime for the first month and a half or so.  More or less I'd try to make sure she was up by 9am and winding down for bedtime around 9 or 10pm.

Good luck!

Welcome to the BW website, and congrats on the birth of your lo.

I agree with PP.

With DD what we did, her early AM feeding we would treat as night feed, and put her straight back to bed, this enabled me to get DS up and get him ready for nursery without having to sort DD out at the same time.

As she got older, she started sleeping longer stretches, and eventually our day automatically started at 7:00am.

With regards to EASY and going out, like PP said, try to keep the E and the Seperate, but otherwise, just follow your lo's cues.  If you know you are planning to go out, try and plan it around your lo's routine, so say try to leave straight after a feed, so that your lo will fall asleep whilst out and about.

Good luck, and keep us posted on how you get on.

At that age, I would usually feed them or wait until it was time to eat, then feed them, and then leave, that way they would sleep while out.  I would plan on being back before the next feed so that the next cycle would be at home and back on track.  I think when they are that small, it is ideal to get out because they mostly just eat and sleep anyway.

thanks for all the help
we had a really hard day yesterday something was bothering her -  i think she had Constipation - and it was very hard getting her to sleep. hope that today she will be better. what we did is help her by pushing her legs gently to her stomach. are there other ways? and how do you know if its maybe because of the food? (I'm not bf).

What formula are you using?  What did the poop look like when it came out?  Sometimes it just takes little ones longer because they are new to all of this.

Every baby usually has a fussy time at that age.  Late in the evening is common.  Orange??? not sure about that?  If you think it is constipation you could post on the Health Forum for advice.

If the poop is not hard, I would not think that your lo is constipated, especially if she is going 3 times a day.  It could just be gas?

Do you think that the formula could not be agreeing with her?  I don't know much about the silimac.  Any history of lactose intollerance?

Does your lo spit up a lot?  Does she seem uncomfortable after feeds?  Just ruling out the possiblity of reflux
