Since coming on this thread I've tried to hold back on loading up the spoon for Alice - sometimes it's just easier tho
I now put a spoon (and sometimes fork) on her tray and in the last week she has started to have a go herself - we were away for a couple of days last week and she was using an adult spoon (forgot to take baby ones
) to feed herself porridge - TBH she seemed to do better with the big spoon as she had more area to dig with IYKWIM? Am still in shock at the amount she puts in her mouth!!
I keep telling myself (just like Faye) that she will get it when she's ready - I remember stressing about A's sippy cup refusal when I was weaning her. She would only drink from it if I held it for her - and I thought I would always have to hold it . . . seems funny now when I watch her holding it one-handed and tipping it right back to get the last drop of milk LOL. Just like the sippy cup (and everything else I worried about) she will get it . . . just like all your LOs did / will.
Still think taking the BLW route was one of the best decisions I made - and would definitely do it again
