Liver?
« on: February 28, 2009, 03:39:05 am »
So my SIL told me to do liverwurst/liver pate spread on toast as a finger food for DD... because liver offers protein and iron...  I personally like the taste of pate, so I don't cringe at the thought of it, but I wonder about salt content?  Has anyone tried this?

I've definitely read about giving liver, but I'm not sure about those specific forms.  :-\  I'd definitely check for salt content and be concerned if it's high.

I made my own liver pate (just chicken livers simmered in homemade chicken broth and pureed), so no salt  - my son loved it much to my surprise!  A lot of commercial pates (but not all) have preservatives so best avoided.
