Thoughts on this?
« on: March 07, 2009, 13:53:45 pm »
DD had a great night.  Was in bed by 6:45 and slept until 7:10 waking up once around 4 for a feed.

E - 7:10
A - 7:20
S - 7:53 - 8:43 (50 minutes) - She peeped at 8:43 but then went silent until 8:50 when she started chattering.

We are trying to correct the short nap monster - 30-40 minutes

DH held her for 20 minutes through the jolt and for a few minutes longer w2s - holding her arms while she was lying in the crib.

Thoughts on this.. anything we should work on?  She is 11 weeks old.

Now, when i do i start counting the start of A time?  8:43 or 8:50?

At this age, most of those short naps are developmental. Holding through the jolts seems to be what people have the most success with. You could try extending her A time just a bit so that she's awake for a full hour, that may help a bit with the short naps too.

I would start counting A time at 8:45am. HTH! :)

Thanks.. so we did that and put her down at 9:50 and she had another 50 minute nap.  She was tired at 9:45 so maybe the A time is still too long.  I'd love to move past a 2 hour EASY.

Also, about what point should the jolt be.  I was in there for 25 minutes today and the jolt occured at about 12 minutes.  Is that too early in the sleep cycle for it to occur?  Is it indicate that her biorythm is set up for a short nap cycle?
