Not eating well in the morning?
« on: March 30, 2009, 06:17:17 am »
Hello,
My twins are 3 months old and are on the same feeding schedule...it goes as follows:

6:00 & 6:30am-Wake and feed - Amount varies
10:15 & 10:45am - Feed - Both take 5-6 oz
2:30 & 3:00pm - Feed - both take around 5-6 oz
7:00 & 7:30pm - Feed - both take around 5-6 oz
12:30 & 1:00am - Feed - both take around 5-6 oz

During the morning feeding, they don't eat very much.  They sometimes don't want to eat at all, or maybe an oz or 2.  Is this normal?  Is there something about mornings that babies aren't that hungry?  One of my little ones even looks like he wants to gag or puke when you try and feed them in the morning.  They both wake up, and SEEM like they want to eat (cry for it, etc.)  But then they don't eat much.  They are both growing and are a healthy weight so I know I don't have to worry too much, but I was just wondering b/c it sometimes frustrates us!

My DS is the same and has been since around 3 months. Ive tried to push him to have more but he's just not interested. He will only have about 1, maybe 2 ounces when he wakes. He's perfectly healthy and growing well so i dont worry about it.
This probably doesn't help much but at least you know you're not alone ;)

Both of mine would always have a lot less from their first bottle of the day than the others- for example now Alex has 9oz bottles, but usually only has 4-5oz at 7am.
I don't really like eating a huge meal for breakfast when I have just woken up, so I guess they are just the same!
