hungry after solid feed??

please help.... my 8mths and 1 week old baby cries for milk almost immediately after solid feed.. his solid feed is about 7tablespoons of cereal with vege/ carrot and fish puree.... he can even finish his usual milk 6oz even after so much solids.......

what is wrong? is it ok to feed him solid before his milk?

what is the rest of his day like i.e. when are the milk and solid feeds in relation to each other?

Hi there,

right now i'm giving him 2 solid meals twice a day. (but sometimes only once as I'm working part-time and my mum can't help). so basically everyday is a total of 4 milk feeds and 2 solid feeds. usually i just feed him solids before his milk. and immediately after his solids, he'll cry for milk. if i feed him solids after his milk, he won't be interested in his solids at al......

Just wondering?.....How long do you wait after the milk feed before offering the solids??? 30 mins ? 1 hour?

mostly he'll cry for milk after the solid feed.. so i'll give to him straight away........

Sounds like you are giving solids then milk, am I right?..............

Just wondering as generally it is recommended to give milk then wait 30-60 mins and offer solids. One,  as milk should be the main source of nutrition until one year old and two, because solids take much longer to digest than milk....

I always give LO her milk, then her solids, but not close together..... what does nayone else think?

hi there,

do u give them the whole usual milk feed 6oz? or half before and the other half after the solids? i've tried giving him solids after milk but he's not interested.. currently i'm giving him solids before his milk and he's able to finish his solids plus whole of usual milk feed...

sigh.. confused...

no I give the milk then the solids 30-60 mins after the milk, no more milk after solids....

however, looks fro what you have just said that the other way works for you........ maybe you could try and up the amount of solids gradulaly to see if this stops the crying for more food????

Anyone else experienced this? ?
