Hi everyone. My lo is 6.5mo has been weaned since 4mo as we were having problems with his growth. He is still having purees of veggies and fruit and i have recently introduced finger foods (rice cakes, fruit pieces etc).

In the last 2 weeks he has had a cold, and went off the food for a few days, only taking milk. This improved (and so did the NW!) for a few days but now he is refusing all solids. I have given him paracetamol today as me and DH have had it too, and had sore throats /cough too so thinking maybe he is in pain.

Should i hold off on the solids, or keep trying at each mealtime?

Hi,
This happened to my DS about 2 weeks ago. He had a cold and went off his food but particularly the solids. I kept offering them and tried to give him the things I know he really likes. One day he started again and now back to normal so I think keep offering. I guess it is like us when we are off colour - we want comfort food!

Alex is 7mo and he too had complete solids refusal starting about 9 days ago when I introduced slightly lumpier foods. I thought he was teething but after 5 days he was obviously poorly so we went to the docs and turned out he had an ear infection in both sides and tonsillitis too- poor fella! No wonder he didn't want to eat....
He is on day 4 of antibiotics today, noticeably better and his appetite returned with a vengeance yesterday afternoon  ;D
So maybe it is just that it hurts to swallow?
