Another cereal low in sugar is puffed corn.  We get it in the organic section of the grocery store.  All it is is a ball of corn.  Nice and light, no other ingredients (though kind of bland to the adult palate).  Makes a great finger food for breakfast or snack.
DS also likes homemade banana bread (can post a super easy recipe if interested) or a microwaved egg (just scramble in a bowl and microwave on high for 1 min comes out like a scambled egg but in 1 big piece that you can cut into bite sizes and let LO eat as finger food)
Also yogurt of any flavor is nice in the AM.

Second for the banana bread recipe!!

I always make scrambled egg in a pot and it sticks and is ridicuously hard to clean.  Never even thought of the microwave.  But thats what i'll be doing from now on.

We don't have a microwave :'(  I do it in a non-stick tefal frying pan with a little olive oil and it always comes off easily ... I think the trick is to leave it alone for the first few mins before scrambling it up - my DHs always sticks when he makes it cos he's in there whisking away as soon as it's hit the pan, and it gets stuck everywhere ... mine tends to looklike an omelette for the first few mins then scranmbles up nicely. The other day Artemis had avocado on toast, which I thought would be a good breakie idea too.

Max sometimes has avocado and banana mashed together and LOVES it.....and if you mash it up quite well you could use it as a spread aswell, i havent done that yet but i'm gonna give it a try, he loves it on its own and he loves toast so why not combine! :)

I think I am whisking too early as I do use olive oil!  Am determined not to let scrambled egg beat me!!  But I'm going to see how the microwave works out too!!

Maeve doesn't like avocado or banana.  I keep trying just in case (a banana would be so handy when out and about) so we'll see!

Peanut butter and banana is delicious too!  I made pancakes this morning with the "Shake and Make" bottles you can buy... was feeling lazy!  Looking forward to the banana bread recipe....

Grrrr ... I just get Artemis to eat eggs (seemed to be in every recipe when she couldn't have them) and now you are all posting about bananas ... she REFUSES to eat banana!!!! LOL ::) ;D  It was her first food (10 days of trying babyrice with no spoonfuls going down, I gave her a mushed up banana and she wolfed down 2/3 of it!! little piggy, but since then she has refused it everytime it's offered (at least once a month!) she will occasionally have a miniscule bit of ours, or lick the edge of a whole banana, but grimaces, gags and her eyes water if it goes in!! Drama queen or what!! She won't eat banana yoghurt or fruit mixes I make if there is a bit of banana in it.

I'm also wary about peanuts - no family allergies as such (I get mouth ulcers if I eat peanuts ... and I used to love M&Ms!!!!), but after the egg, I'm not sure... maybe wait a few years ... ??? I too loved peanunt butter. I wonder if it is the pesticides cos if I eat walnuts, after 5 mins my mouth and tongue feel like they're covered in small cuts, but if I eat from MILs walnut tree, I'm fine! My mum was the same with pineapple, but after eating from a friends tree abroad, she was ok, but not with the fresh or tinned ones back in UK again.

well it could be the pesticides, makes you wonder doesnt it. I would love to have the time and energy to grow my own fruits and veg...But who has that time with 3 kids....2 of them are full on nearly every afternoon after school...

Our diets will soon change if my oldest DS tests results come back with him having type 1 diabetes. He had blood tests this morning! I said to DH its only fair that we all follow the same diet to make it fair on Preston if he has it...
I'm praying he doesnt have it but in a way i will be glad to have answers to his problems, cos if he gets the all clear we are back to square one again!

The Dr told me to come back monday after school but i cant wait that long so i'm hoping the results are back tomorrow afternoon so i can try and get them tomorrow!!

I'll keep you posted on the results!

Max isnt as much of a fan of banana like he used to be, i dont do the mash avo and banana too much anymore, he seems to like it with the avo but not on its own. But he loves banana bread, so thats worth a try with Artemis! :)

Tonight I made Max's formula bottle and added a small amount of cows milk, will add a little extra every night until its all cows milk...he wont take cows milk cold turkey....keeps spitting it out!

Good luck with Preston's results - I say good luck, but either way it's going to be tough on him (and you guys) eh? Like you said tho, it is always good to finally have some answers. Fingers crossed for you anyway. :-*

I am going to try the banana and weetabix muffins that Deb in Oz gave me the recipe for ages ago on a thread ... I wil have to go searching thru all my old posts to find it tho! I'll give you ladies the link when I find it if you're interested?

A ate 1/2 and avocado yesterday, but today completely refused the other half ::) Toddlers eh? ::) Never mind, I'm growing the seed to go with our other one - I grew the seed from her 1st ever avocado and now it has sprouted and has leaf buds!!!!! YAY!!! ;D

Ooh i wouldn't try peanut butter with a history of allergies... leave it off for a while.  Ds won't eat bananas either... i think it's a consistancy thing.  His face is a picture when you show him a banana!!  He does love peanut butter so thought i would try, he didn't eat it but i did... yum yum it was lush!!  Banana and wheatabix muffins sound nice...
