Sleep Cycle
« on: June 15, 2009, 13:55:12 pm »
Am I right in saying that baby's 40/45 minute sleep cycle eventually increases?  If so when does it increase and what to?

PS Deckchariot/Michelle - just to let you know my LO's sleep has now been really good for a while  ;D He regularly naps 2 1/2 -3 hours for his one nap and is more flexible by half an hour or so as to when he's put down for his nap.  Hoorah!

Still hasn't cracked sleeping for more than an hour at nursery but seems to survive for the two days and catches up when he's back at home. Hope all is well with you x

I've read that an adult's cycle is about 90 mins and a baby/child is about 45 mins.  At around 10yrs, the cycle becomes similar to an adult's.

Here's an article on it that I found very helpful in understanding sleep.  http://www.sleepeducation.com/Topic.aspx?id=59
