Cluster feeding a refluxy/windy baby?
« on: July 03, 2009, 09:58:39 am »
My lo has reflux and is a fairly windy baby. Would cluster feeding make this worse as the previous feed won't have enough time to digest?
Thanks.

My LO has reflux and was also very gassy. I had a really hard time with cluster feeding and eventually stopped trying to do it. Personally, i thought it contributed to a lot of his night wakes. So I worked on the Dreamfeed and eventually got him to take that. How old is your LO? Is his reflux under control?

I guess it would depend on your lo.

Some reflux lo's prefer smaller feeds more often.

If your lo seems uncomfortable feeding so close together, then you could try and draw the feeds out a little.

We never did the cluster feeds unless my DD was going through a growth spurt and was asking for it.
