Dropped to three bottles for 8month
« on: July 08, 2009, 15:01:56 pm »
It has been a week where I have dropped from 4 bottles to 3 and it has been going well.  I have noticed, however, her first bottle in the morning can be a struggle for her to drink. The most she will drink is 5ozs, sometimes 6ozs out of 8ozs.  I do put 2ozs in her cereal.  Her second bottle is in the afternoon, which she drinks 8-9ozs and her last bottle of the day is around 9-10ozs. She does make up the missing ounces in her other bottles, but how can I get her to drink 8ozs in the morning?
I am wondering if it is because she knows cereal is coming and she would rather have that or she is just not that hungry!

thanks

Yes that is what we did.  Whenever DD did not finish her morning bottle, we would make up her cereal with the left over formula.  At least that way you know how much she is getting into her.

Both my two did this after starting solids- they both started taking less from their first bottle of the day.

Alex typically has 5oz at the moment (he is 9.5mo)- I offer more, but he refuses, then half an hour later he is yelling at me starving for his breakfast. Men  ::)

I feel better that I am not the only one. She utterly refuses the remaining ounces. I give her cereal everyday so she can have the rest of her milk. She must be tired of cereal. :-\
