I think I have decided to try set nap times for a week to see how my lo goes as going by A time and/or tired signs is not going well.
He sleeps anywhere bewteen 10.5-12.5 hours at night with the usual being 11/11.5. Due to the unpredictability I am finding it so hard to judge when to put him down for the first nap. We got up to 3 hours and then he started learning to crawl and so that was pushed right back to 2.15/2.30 and now that does not seem to be quite right either. Last night he did an amazing 12.5 hours which is unusual and I put him down for a nap after 2.35 but that was obviously way too early and he fussed for about an hour(!) with us going in and out to soothe him.
So...need to try and regulate this little body clock a little I think.
9am and 2pm have been suggested to me as good times to set but I am a little confused i.e. if he wakes at 5.45am then 9am is probably ok but if he wakes at 6.30am then it may be too short. Do I just do it anyway and hope he just gets used to it??? I don't really want to go through what I did this am. Or...do I set 9am as the earliest he can go down but be flexible about it being later if he has woken later?
