He sounds like my lo for sure, although it seems that your lo has more variety in his diet than mine.  I'm still trying to come up with new things for him to try.  He took a bite of the quiche tonight, but then spit it out (still not a fan of eggs apparently!), but he did eat his tomatoes and sweet potatoes.

Any suggestions for breakfast foods?  Currently, he will eat dry cereal (doesn't like it with milk on it), toast, waffles, pancakes, and some types of oatmeal.  He always has fruit with whatever he is eating for breakfast.  I feel like I'm constantly giving him the same few things though.

It looks like you've gotten so much wonderful advice already!  I was just going to chime in with some of the same.  My LO was always a good eater, not necessarily in very large quantities but he enjoys everything I offer him.  But I had noticed his appetite dwindling a bit lately despite my best efforts to keep up with what I 'thought' he liked.  He would throw his food on the floor and scream in his chair.  I thought maybe we were experiencing spoon refusal and more finger foods were the way to go.  But then I tried a whole bunch of new things and lo and behold, he loves eating again!  Turns out he was just bored, even things I 'thought' were his favorites and he'd never refuse were old news for him.  I noticed this with drinks too, he started not drinking as much milk at meals and I thought he was losing interest, then I realized he was bored with his same old cup, so now I change up the cups and he keeps drinking, lol!

Anyways, I always offer a huge variety of foods at each meal, and I let him play with all his food!  Finger foods, purees, different textures and shapes, etc.  Also, have you thought about offering a smoothie?  He might enjoy it and you can pack all sorts of nutritious things into it!  And I agree with ppl, eating with him may help and he might like it better if it's from your plate.  When DS is all done I put him on the floor, and he tends to eat a bit more from there.  Gross I know, but I keep my floors immaculate for that reason, lol!

Good luck!  :)

Liz, your LO is just like mine!  Loves to feed me, although I hate having his peas put in my mouth, I do try to accept them so he sees that it's the good thing to do!  The worst is when he takes the food OUT of his mouth to share with me  ;D

Yellow rose, I think the fact that he TRIED the quiche is a great sign. The fact that he spit it out, oh well. It's that he looked at something, and was willing to put it in his mouth that should be celebrated, so when he does that praise him, and ignore that he spit it out. Because otherwise, he will start even refusing to TRY new foods and that is even more frustrating!

I think you have a good variety of breakfast foods, all are a normal breakfast menu and there's not a whole lot else if you want to stick to "breakfasty" foods....although there is no reason to.  When I lived in Korea for instance, normal breakfast is rice, spicy fish and some egg drop soup! Some days I have given him bits of turkey or chicken and cheese, toast and carrots for breakfast - a good protein, a carb and some dairy!  Nothing that says he has to have "traditional" breakfast foods.  But, if you are going to keep with the same things you've listed, then just do it on rotation so that it is constantly changing.   And like Martina, I put DS on the floor while I am cleaning up his mess and he eats the bits that he threw off.  DH is not impressed that I do this, but he's not the one cleaning the kitchen three times a day....
