Cutting Dreamfeed at 5 months - is it too early?

My ds is 5 months and has been sttn since 9 weeks. For the past month he has woken at 7am and hasn't been hungry. It's a struggle to get 4 - 6 oz in him per feed all day long. I just dropped the df and for the past 3 days he has been taking 4 good feeds of 5 - 6 oz each. He stirs early in the morning 5/6am several times, but goes back to sleep with a paci. He now feeds around 7am and takes a good bottle.
Is 5 months too early to drop the df?? Only issues right now seem to be early waking and also much harder stools.
Thanks for the tips~

If your lo is feeding better in the morning, then I would say no, it is not too early to drop the DF. Some mums don't even do the DF.
You say that your lo has harder stools. Doe he seem to strain while going - does he seem in any discomfort?
