Should I cut back the nighttime bottle?
« on: August 28, 2009, 03:39:26 am »
Hi there,
We're going through an eating phase with my 17 month daughter where she eats 3 bites and then she says she's all done. She doesn't have that much snacks or any bottle feeds during the day. The worst is dinner where she'll have max 2-4 ounces of food total (mostly fruit) and then suck back her full 7 ounce bottle of formula an hour later.
Should I start cutting back that bottle to encourage her body to eat more at dinner?
Thanks a lot.
Steph

We cut all milk in bottles or formula at a year.  I would probably say it is time to cut it.  I am a firm believer that they eat when they are hungry and if she had food to et and nothing else to fill the space then she probably would et more.  she probably knows she will have that so she doesn't eat.
