Vally/Em was just thinking wonder how you are doing hehe.  OMG 7 - 7!  How. Did. You. Do. It.???????????

It's great that he is going off for his naps independently.  It just means that all the hard work you put in is paying off.  It sounds like you are back on track!

4:57 this morning.  Arrrghhh.  He was happy as a clam though after having like 11 hours sleep.  So what can I do???  It's just that starting the day that early starts a vicious cycle as everything gets pushed back so far.  Meh.

We did have a 1 hr 45 min nap yesterday...wooo.  Didn't quite know what to do with those extra 15 minutes because I kept thinking...he'll be up any minute lol.  So I started the washing up.  Very exciting times.

Last night Marlow went down at 7pm and slept til 1215am.   She woke and I gave her some Tylenol for her teeth.   She still kept fussing and looking at her bottle and thermos of hot water I keep in her room for middle of the night feeds.    Everytime I laid her down she cried so I gave in and made the bottle.   She drank 2 oz and started getting sleepy.    She went back in the crib and I woke at 4am to stir her.    I went back bed and she woke at 6am.     I didn't stir her very much so I wonder if I leave her if she'll sleep thru the 5am.   I'm going to W2S one more time tonight and then let her fly and see what happens.     I also didn't have a chance to feed her a lot of solids yesterday b/c I took my 3 yr old the get th flu shot.   It took 3 hours!   Everyone is out of the flu shot.     Today she is getting 3 solids meals after her bottle.   Also, I SWEAR she waved hi and bye bye yesterday.    It was clumsy but I'm so sure she did it.

Vally 7-7... glorious! I'm sure it's been a lot of hardwork getting there!

Marlows mom, a wave! that's awesome.

All4finn now that is an EW! I feel for you, at least your son got the sleep he needed!

Our night was the worst we've had in a while.  Not sure what was up. As I was cleaning up for the night I noticed that he had 6oz left over in his formula container ( I make 32oz in one shot and use it all day) so he must have missed a bottle (how in the world do I still make those mistakes this late in the game). I said a prayer that he wouldn't wake because of it. Well at 3:59 he woke up, he fussed, rolled around, cried, played in the crib....I went in at 4:15 and tried to shh/pat, which always used to work. and it didn't. so i went back to bed to see if he'd soothe himself, but then the crying really started. so my husband got up and next thing i knew Ambrose's bed side light was on. ugh! he was changing his diaper, which I don't really think needed changing. After that Ambrose would not let us put him down and he was hysterical. so we fed him, he sucked down 6oz and fell asleep on the bottle, but when put in the crib woke right up. it took and additional 25 minutes of shh/pat to get him to fall asleep. All said and done he was up for an hour and five minutes. Ugh. he's still asleep now, so I think he's making up for some of the lost sleep. We'll see how long he stays asleep. I am SOOOOOO worried that we've created a bad habit. Today I am going to stay on top of the feedings and hope for a better night.

how long do i let him sleep in? he was up for an hour last night, so i figured he'd go about an hour past his normal awake time, and we're starting to get to that time. I do not want to start the day with an OT baby, but I don't want to throw the day off too much!

I'm so sorry to hear about your bad night, Okinawamama.    I agree, let him sleep.   If he needs it then he needs it.   I hope (and don't think) it won't throw your day off that much.    If you put him down after what your assigned amount of A time then he hopefully will have a long nap.     Many wishes for long naps for everyone today!

I would also let him sleep.  Just work from when he wakes and try the same A time you have been using or you could use the decent night sleep as the opportunity to push it a bit if you think he needs it.  When Finn has a good night that's the morning I try to push his A's (when we are in the process of pushing).

Man up at 5 and I make no sense today lol.  Hopefully you can understand what I was trying to get at.

Sprinkling a little napping dust around today!!!

ugh, I think that NW did us in. He could not (was falling asleep on me while putting in laundry) stay awake for 2hr 45min, so he went down at the 2hr 05min mark, and I am now fully expecting a 35 min OT nap. I'll let you know how it goes :)

Well after our 4:32 wake up on Sat morning and 3:12 this morning NW...we are really trying hard to make that CN disappear.  I have a post on EASY and getting good advice over there.  I really think it's going to help solve our problem.  We pushed his morning A as far as we could take it because any nap before 9 a.m. seems to be digging us deeper into the early waking/early bedtime circle.  He's a little OT but there is no going back now.  He managed to give us just under 1.5 this morning and did 1 hr 45 this afternoon.  Now we are aiming for a 6 p.m. bedtime and see what happens in about 3 days time hehe.

Of course something new will crop up by then and who knows where we'll be.  But that's the plan and I need a plan to remain sane for Monday morning.

Glad to hear about Marlow...yay!  Even one of's are just little gifts from above :-)

Good luck All4Finn!    I'm hoping Marlow STTN wasn't a one off.   I'll know tonight.  It was nice getting a full night sleep.   I woke a couple of times because I was used to waking up for her.    I want to sleep in my own bed again.   I've been sleeping in our guest room since its right next to the baby and the monitor doesn't disturb my husband.     Marlow had a short nap this afternoon.    hmmmm.

Marlow woke last night at 115am and 4am.   When she woke at 4 I assumed she was hungry and she was.    I didnt feed her enough solids yesterday.   We did get a tooth in though!         Marlow needs that NF if I don't feed her enough solids during the day.   I have learned a lesson.

good morning!
The learning curve to this parenting thing is steep! Hopefully one day, I'll get the hang of it.

Last night we had a great night, 7:15-6:40 without a peep! Naps were off, but I have much more perspective about it and can just roll with it if the nights are good :) Last week we did have 3 good nap days in a row so I know he can do it. Yesterday I think I put him down a little too early maybe.... he went down very easy at around the 2.5 hr mark, but then woke up at 35min just talking and babbling. Even though it was 35 m in, I don't think it was OT. He stayed up 2.5hrs, and slept for about 11 the night before, so I really think it was UT. He starts showing signs around the 2hr mark, but I think it's habit maybe....not sure. I'm going to push to 2hr. 45 min and see what we get. Good luck girls!

ugh. just ended a 28 minute nap. wonderful! normally I know that would be an OT nap, but he always wakes up happy, talking and playing. I leave him in there for quite a while because a) I need a break and B) he's happy and will play in there for a while. His awake time was 2hrs 50min. Do you think that it was an OT or UT nap? After such a terrible nap, how long would you keep him up for? Normally I do 2hours, but within the last few days I've pushed it to 2hr 2min because he just doesn't seem tired. It's so hard though because once the first nap is shot, the rest of the day is as well :(

In another note, it seems the more sleep he gets at night the less he sleeps during the day. does anyone else find that? I'm a HUGE believe in Dr. Weissbluth and he says good sleep promotes good sleep....what's up with my kid?
