Glad he went down ok.  How was the night?  And most importantly, how was wake up?

Thanks for the info Eloys - unfortunately for him I won't be letting him catch up with a long nap. Every time I try to let him sleep more than 2h15m, lately, it's backfired on me. In fact signs are pointing to me needing to cut the nap down to 2 hours. But I'm not quite ready to do that yet. I'll keep an eye on the earlier bedtime though. He was chewing on his paci like a mad man this morning, so I'm thinking teething might have had a little to play in it, but I think it was more just the really restful night he had. He was a bundle of energy all morning.

Charm - thanks for checking in :)

We had a STTN. YEY!!! And he was up around 6:40. He moved around a little before then, but I think he was still asleep. So he did 11h40m. :)  Not bad for my little guy.

Yes, Charm it was excellent :) He went down with no fuss today and I had to wake him at 2h15m :)

clazzet - I haven't decided if that 11h40m was worth the no nap yesterday though :)  At least he wasn't a terror. I guess that's the good news about having a little one who seems to need less sleep than others. The good news is there was nothing super stimulating going on yesterday, otherwise it would have been a completely different day.

I think worth it every now and then!  Yeah for the long night!  Sher, anything over 2.5 hours nap and it backfires here.  I am still getting the courage to cut to 2hr 15 mins and then 2 hours.   He is AWFUL to wake from a nap.

Karen - how did Ethan's night go? Both nights. You didn't say.

Well, things aren't looking so good today. He had another great night last night. I was afraid that I put him down too late yesterday but he eventually went off to sleep on his own. He slept almost 11 hours again.

A few minutes ago I said come on it's nap time and he start screaming and running away. Then he preceded to run up and down the hallway like a maniac. So I'm going to hold off and try nap a little later today. I haven't decided if I should try closer to 12:30 or 1. I'm not feeling very lucky though.

Part of me thinks I should try WI/WO, but he genuinely doesn't seem tired, so that doesn't seem right But I might need to start a post in discipline about how to get him to have quite time. The last day no nap day there was no down time in his bed. I don't really want to start a trend of him having no room time.

How did it go?  Did he have a nap in the end?

Things ok here.  The no nap night he woke up screaming at 10pm and wouldn't calm down for what seemed forever.  I'm putting that more down to the teething though.  He woke up at 7am the next morning though and had a 2.5 hour nap yesterday.  This morning he was up at 630pm and STTN and I didn't give him any meds last night so happy about that.  He's been gnawing on his hand like crazy where the tooth is coming in!

Today he fell asleep in stroller as we were leaving Disney at 1245pm.  We transfered him to car, drove home and transfered him to crib which he stayed asleep the whole time.  I knew you'd like that Sherry.....stop saying "No way", lol!  It's now 3pm so I'm off to wake him up!

No way was exactly what was going through my mind. What a super sleeper.

No nap. It's 3:30 and coping fine. I can't believe I'm already going through this. And it didn't happen at all like I thought it would. The way he was going with such a low first A time I thought I had at least until the baby came.

I can't really complain about how it's going though. At least so far. We'll see if OT starts to creep in, but yesterday after he had that nap he was in the BEST mood. We had a great afternoon. And then a great night, so that seems to me that he made up on his missed sleep.

I think I'll have him in bed at 6:50 again.

Sounds great Sherry.  I know that Amy was having some occasional no naps days just before she turned two and just made up for it at night so it was never really a problem.  If they have long nights then they might just not be tired enough for a nap.

Ethan didn't want to wake up at 3pm but Amy started shouting at 315pm so that woke him up!

OMG sherry, PITA teeth again is all i can say!!! hunter is cutting his 2nd 2yo molar and did his first ever nap refusal today too and i just started a post then saw this (silly me forgot pain meds before the nap tho, so i'm hoping to god that fixes it tomorrow!).

so i'm guessing from reading tips you got - if he was up at 7am, and bedtime is normally 7.30pm then aim for 7pm bedtime. think i'll put him in just before that so he is hopefully asleep by 7pm.

huge hugs hun (and to all with no nappers at the moment), this is awful that our LOs are starting this sooooooo soon!

hugs Sherry.  No point in putting him down if he genuinely is not tired. Maybe a later nap when he's really really ripe is  the trick.  I thought it woudn't be long till Lyle started this no napping business!!  J seems to be tired at 1pm after 6am wake-up.

We had another no nap day yesterday, it went well considering 5am wake-up.I think I missed the wondow , we had screaming and crying at 9am and yawning.   Anyway, he was in bed asleep by 7pm.  Slept till 5:45am.
