Help! I am a new mom- again at 40. I have a 7 yr. old and 5 year old that are pretty good sleepers but getting used to a newborn again has been really rough. My newborn ,Leah, who is now 4 weeks old, sleeps great during the day but at night struggles. I have been reading about the EASY routine and am going to concentrate on setting up our routines starting tomorrow. My question is why is it that when I put my Leah in her bassinet she screams as soon as I take my hand off of her but if I pick her up she goes right back to sleep? What am I doing wrong? It is now 1 :49 am and I have been trying to get her to sleep since 11:00 pm. I have her swaddled, I have given her a paci, i have nursed her 3 times since 11:00- she nurses for a minute or two and then falls back to sleep. I am open to any advice and suggestions. I am miserable and need some help.
