Can DLS really be blamed for so much crying??

Hi

I'm new to BW site although i've read the latest and sadly last book.  I'm mam to Rosie who is 20 weeks old.  Please help with any advice on the following  ...

DLS totally blew my routine at the window but I think we are back on track.  Over the last couple of days however as soon as its nap time or bed time and little one is put to bed she screams the house down until I pick her up and is only napping for 20 to 30 mins.  Before she would generally go down no problem within a few minutes of me with my hand on her chest and sshhh sshhh sshhh.  Is DLS to blame??  On top of this the brakes on my quinny buzz have stuck on and so i cant get out of the house .....

Our usual routine is:

7am Wake
7.30am Feed
8am cuddles and quiet play
9am Nap
10.15 am wake up
11 am Feed
11.30 am activity
12.30 pm Nap
1.15 pm wake up
2.30 pm Feed
3.00 pm activity
4.00 pm Nap
4.30 pm wake up
5.30 pm 1/2 feed
6pm Bath
6.30pm Finish feed
7pm Bedtime
10.30 pm dream feed

Any advice would be great.

Welcome to the Baby Whisperer Forums.   I'm sorry you haven't received any replies yet.  I see it's been a few days since you posted--how are things going?

Given her age, my first thought is to wonder if she might be starting to teeth and perhaps that's throwing her off.  Have you seen any signs of teething?

just wondering about that first nap, is she waking on her own or are you wakingher? are you able to extend her naps?

I never really thought that it could be connected to teething but we've had chewing for about a month now and then on Saturday rosie was really distressed and pulling at her ears so it certainly looks like they are coming.  She seams to be ok now and I'm generally getting her to bed without much drama!

Rosie wakes on her own calebsmummy and her naps can be quite varied but this routine is quite typical, sometimes she sleeps longer or shorter at each nap. For example, if we are in the car she will nap for longer. Why do you ask?

Unfortunately, teething can make things a little crazy with sleep--how crazy varies from baby to baby.

It looks to me like she can handle a little bit more A time in the morning as 45 mins usually means undertired. for yuor second A time you do 2 hours 15mins so im wondering if she can do that for the first A time as well, you may get a longer nap out of her. if your LO is undertired then she will not go back to sleep after 45mins because she simply wasnt tired enough to sleep any longer when she first went to sleep.

do you think you could give it a try?
