Studied LO's naps - no deep sleep!
« on: November 06, 2009, 01:42:45 am »
Hi all,
big problems.
My husband has taken the day off work in order to help me understand why our 10wo LO is not napping (or for 30m when he does actually nap).
We just came back from our first experiment nap where one of us pat/shushed and the other took notes on what LO was doing.

For the whole hour, LO did not move from light sleep to deep sleep. He woke partially about 3 times and fully woke twice, crying and all.

LO is swaddled, in a dark room (we used a torch for the note taking), with a white noise machine. He finished his last feed 40 minutes before we put him down.

Any ideas for this desperate couple as to why our LO can't move into the next phase of sleep?!
Taking it one day at a time.

Hi there,

can you post your routine? it sounds like your LO is OT but with your routine up we may be able to see something else.

is his room darkened? it couldve been that having two of you in there was distracting him from going to sleep fully, just knowing that you were both there couldve done that.
