Mashi--I had a chuckle when I saw your post title.  For me, one nap is the holy grail of napping and I'm SO frustrated that I can't my 17.5 month old DD to make the switch.  I love having a big chunk of time in the morning, a nap that falls at a fairly predictable time and is long enough to feel worthwhile planning around (right now I feel so lame planning stuff around our dinky 30 minute morning nap, but if I don't dank, I pay for it).  For me, by the time I get her up from her dinky morning nap, we have to mess around for a bit, then have lunch, and by the time lunch is done I feel like we have such a tiny window it will be hard to do anything before her second nap.

Perhaps we can exchange babies?  Pop them in the post?  ;)

Glad you figured out the bus situation.  Hope that helps you out!  :D

LOL!!!  The main reason I liked the morning nap is because I left the house just before he fell asleep, and then by the time I got where I was going, I still had 15-20 minutes of his nap (ie/ in his buggy) to either sit and have a coffee or get through some shops and things in peace!  Then there was still 3 hours before I had to be home for his next nap, and so that was plenty of time. Now, everything is so rushed to get back for nap!  And the other part is that we are not on anything predictable yet, still waiting. While on 2 naps it was cut and dried -- first nap 930, second nap 115!!  Now it can be anywhere from 1100 - 1200 which makes it sooo hard for me to plan my day!

I haven't had a chance to read through everything so if someone has already suggested these things...sorry (am at work and only on here b/c addicted lol):

*Can you pack everything you'd need to leave the house the night before? I do this on days I have to take DD to nursery so I am less rushed in the morning. Even pre-make her sippy of milk and have it in the fridge so I can throw her coat on and she sometimes has her cup in the car. Even breakfast on the go is alright now that she will eat granola bars or a baggie of cheerios/fruit etc.

*Can ds handle having breakfast out? I've gone to a diner or other kid friendly location and had breakfast out with her a couple of times. It gives me a place to have coffee and see other adults, still feed DD and be OUT. It's easier with help if you have a friend who could come along. But if not, it's still something to do.

*I've done local playgrounds etc. just to be out and about on some days when feeling cooped up. Even if we're only able to stay a short while.

*Like you said, Hop on a bus! :) You can entertain/feed and do whatever needs to be done...ON the bus while you're traveling :)

Enjoy!

On some really rough days, say like on Wed, if you don't have any toddler groups in the morning and you really want to get out in the afternoon just have a crock pot dinner.

I know DH likes meat and potatoes so just throw some of those in the slow cooker during nap, or even in the early morning and take the bus downtown and grab a cup of coffee or what not. Again, pack everything during his nap so you are ready to go as soon as you change his diaper when he wakes up, that way you can make it back for dinner or what not.

Yey Mashi - a whole new automobile based world - technology is great  ;D.

I wouldn't consider a bus round here either. Walk or car only, but it is amazing how you get caught up in what you usually so. I could get a bus, but would just never even think too.
