Hi,
my baby is 3 months old on bottle feeding, should I be giving her water with the feeds?

I never gave extra water until my lo's started on solids. They dont really need it unless they are constipated or it is hot. If you did decide to give it then give between feeds so it doesnt put her off her milk and only offer an ounce or two max.

I agree with PP, we never gave water unless my lo's were constipated, it was hot, or until they started solids.

may be uk advice is different ? i was told to try and give them 1 or 2 oz a day ? my lo hates it though (also 3 months) X

I am UK too and only started to give DD water (tap water) at 6m as prior to that if they are on solids we are advised only to give fruit and veg. After 6m they can start having wheat, meat etc then tap water. HTH

must be my health visitor then! my mum also said she gave me a bit of water when i was little back in the 1970's! at the end of the day it is up to you as long as they are getting enough to eat and you are not 'watering' down feeds i am sure it is fine to have a bit of water. i always try to give a bit more when she is constipated as that just makes sense to me.
