She had her CN last night and slept until 7:10am.  I do believe that when she has her one nap days and naps for three hours, we get a slightly shorter night.  On two nap days she gets 2hrs and 15min of day sleep and sleeps a little longer.  Now I am questioning if I should let her sleep the full three hours. I would think she needs it and it will at least give us a decent bedtime!

I get this still - a longer nap gives a shorter night - BUT if I cut his nap he is grumpy all afternoon.

I think the question really is whether you think they really NEED a 12 hr night or not.

I personally think she only needs an 11hour night. If I were to wake her up earlier from her one nap she too would be grumpy all day.

For the past few days I have been giving her two nap days as she has been waking around 5am and is in and out of sleep until 7am.  I am positive the Cn is causing this.  Finally, she  had one brief waking last night and woke up at 7:10am. Today is a one nap day.

I totally agree with you Sabs  :).

There comes a stage where one nap is just better than 2 and you just have to go for it.

I know I've said this already - but J seemed very tired before his nap and bedtime for a good few weeks. As with everything it passed as he got used to it, and his nights were better even though he seemed tired iyswim?

thanks ladies.  Hubby put her down at 11:50am today and she woke up screaming at 2:15pm. He couldn't settle her.  Now what do I do? Early bedtime or quick cn?

I would do early bed as Henry would not take a cn after that amount of sleep - maybe Madi would? I still think early bed though x

Early betime from me as well - I mean 5hrs A is still 7.15pm isn't it - perhaps do 7pm and see what happens. No point doing a CN if it is just going to lead to being restless at 5am.

And that was still almost 2.5hrs sleep.

thanks. It was strange because her naps have always been 3hours.   ???  Then again, she did wake up screaming, so it could be teething or discomfort. I will let you know how it goes.

Madi was asleep by 7:10pm. She woke up briefly at 6am, talked to her lovey for a while then went back to sleep. Her official wake up time was 7:08am. :o I am shocked she slept this long. She rarely has given me a 12hour night. I am wondering if she only needs  2.5hours of daytime sleep.
I am aiming for another one nap day today.

Go for it.

Don't be fooled in expecting a 3 hr nap every time. It rarely happens like that. It is usually 2-3hrs really.

After a 3hour nap she handled 5hours of A before bed. She was asleep by 7:45pm and woke up at 5am, 6:30, 6:45am and again 7:10am. I suppose this is part of the process. Do you think she is getting a little OT?

I am a little stumped at the moment! For the past three days we have been doing one naps and she seems to be doing well. However, she has been waking up around 5/6:30am, moaning or chatting a little. She does fall back asleep, but I am wondering if it is because she is sleeping close to three hours for her one nap.  This morning she woke up at 4:30am, chatted a little, then again at 6:25am and again at 6:45am.  Not sure if I should push out her morning A another 15min, which will give us 5hours of A time or give her two naps. :-\

I'd perhaps try pushing the morning A a little, I think.

I really wouldn't be tempted to start limiting the amount of day time sleep when on one nap, or stay on 2 naps for mush longer. There is a very fine line between coping and getting OT.

Most likely it is a period of adjustment really - and perhaps see if cutting that final A helps at all.

Are you still on 4.5hrs? Or is it 5 hrs as she is chatting herself to sleep?
