What to do after a night that isn't part of the routine
« on: January 07, 2010, 03:17:49 am »
Tonight I took my 6 week old to a baby shower he missed his normal bedtime around 7:00 until 8:00 then I fed him at the shower at 8:00 and he still hadn't slept because everyone wants to hold him and joggle him.  Got home around 9:00ish and he was asleep in his seat, put him in his bed and he can't settle.  It's now 10:17pm, I have sat with him, done shh pats until I'm exhausted.  What do I do?  He is way overstimulated and over tired.  Plus I want to feed him soon and go to bed myself....HELP

accidental parenting.  It means do whatever it takes to get them to sleep even feed them.  then go back to the schedule tomorrow.
