LO totally OT after NW/DF - help!
« on: January 08, 2010, 05:06:38 am »
Hi all

I'm not 100% this is the right place to post this so apologies if I've got it wrong!

We started EASY yesterday and had a generally good day.   My LO is a month old and BF.   He has a bottke of EBM at the 10pm ish feed with Daddy.    Last night he had a little too much which resulted in him being sick, followed up by a change of clothes and wipe down he got completely ot and even did a few of those utterley heartrenching 'I'm exhausted' screams/cries.

Hubs was amazing and just sat and sshh patted until he went off but this was a good hour.

Is there anything else we could have done?   LO was swaddled.   Should we do the full 4 s's or should nightime feeds be more quiet affairs?

Oh and do you say the nap time phrase after each nt feed or just at the beginning of the night?

For info he had 2 x 1.5hr naps in the day and slept from 7.20-10pm prior to his nw

Thanks all!

It may have been a touch of OT due to his day, it looks like he didn't get much daytime sleep for his age, perhaps you could post your routine too?

The dreamfeed and all night feeds should be really quiet, no 4Ss, no lights on, no talking. You can use the naptime phrase any time you are trying to settle them to sleep.
