took dreamfeed but eating less in the day?
« on: January 15, 2010, 23:56:18 pm »
we tried a dreamfeed last night he took it all 5 oz--he is breastfed and he still woke at his habitual waking at 330 but my question is today he is taking less food and eating longer...is this normal for the dreamfeed to take away from their day feeding??? I am concerned he was a 3 hour or 3.25 hour easy he will be 4mth next week but today I feed at 3.5 but he could have gone longer and for his expressed breastmilk bottle only took 3 oz he usually takes 5!? I am worried I am in for a double NW waking tonite as oppsed to just one which is why I tried the DF in the first place....is the DF the culprit of eating less?

the one time we did a dreamfeed I swear it messed is up for like 2 days I think we are getting back on track now it really got in the way of his eating the next 2 days he wasnt as hungry since he had such a huge dreamfeed ...

it is possible that it can mess up their routine internally? I really want to try it again but dont want to get set back again the next day he wasnt hunrgy for almost 4 hours which is normal I guess as he gets to 4 mts but that night he stirred at the time he got the dreamfeed the night before, woke earlier and the next day same thing wasnt that hungry all day and woke earlier in the night today seems to be getting back on track eating better but I am wondering about the semantics of the DF I read somewhere on this site that NW and DFs can get in way of day sleep...is this true?

we have 1 NW I would love to solve it but not at the expense of his days seems he will take a lot of calories in the night with the DF he does not ask for dont those calories go somewhere and get in the way somehow since we already have 1 NW?

also since he took such a big DF he would have kept eating to 6 oz but I stopped at 5 how could it not have made any difference in the night even just a tad?
