Wake up clock

Enfys is back to her old EW ways  >:( 4.45 this morning which I just cannot cope with.  I am thinking of getting her one of those clocks that shows her when it's time to get up.  Have any of you tried these?  Do they work?  And which clock would you recommend?  I'm in the UK and I shop online.  (Because I live in the middle of nowhere)

HI Sarah :) 

if not a clock why not a timer. you get a timer and a night light and set it to light up when you want her to wake up. so tell her that she can't 'wake' up until the light is on. or you can use a lamp or the like.  if she has a night light on to sleep tell her the opposite. cna't wake up til it's off.

it doesn't stop the waking, but at least she will get used to the fact taht she can't come out until a specific time, without haveing to actually tell the time.  also cheaper than those clocks..

If you want to get a clock, DON'T get the Kidsleep clock - it is really shoddily made and totally not toddlerproof AT ALL if she gets her hands on it. The Groclock is much, much better, has a keys lock (like on a mobile phone) and remembers its settings if it is unplugged.

Ah thanks.  She's still in her cot so can't get out, but I am getting very tired of "mummy I get up now" every 30 seconds ::)
I like the idea of the nightlight on a timer.  I would have to have the light come on rather than go off I think.  If the light were on, she would be too excited.

I've bought a gro clock from Amazon.  Hopefully it will be here early next week.

I will.  I had a "talk" with her tonight about how she has to stay asleep until I come fetch her in the morning.  I asked her what she would do if she woke up and it was dark and the door was closed and she said "sleep is fun!"  Okay, I'd settle for that ;)  as long as it's quiet sleeping!

Hi.  We've got a gro-clock and, for us, it's fab.  Little Man (3yrs) is often woken up at 5am by his little brother and this has helped him learn that that doesn't necessarily mean it's morning time.  It comes with a cute little story as well, reinforcing the message that 'sleep gives you energy'.

I have heard though, that it's overall success depends a lot on your lo's temperment.  Little Man is very obedient, so loves the independence his clock gives them.  Other's I know have told me that it worked initially for their lo, but eventually they just ignored the clock & got out of bed anyways.

From our personal experience though, it's a thumbs-up for the gro-clock!
