Not receiving notifications on threads

I was receiving notifications to my email on threads I was following/participating in - then it just stopped.  I checked my settings and I think they are correct. 

'Someone' told me I should do a post on the forum help because they don't know the answer...names have been omitted to protect the innocent.

(Aside from that...I do feel like there is a disable notifications button somewhere because I also got emails when I forst started on the forum and then changed it shortly after....when there were just too many emails! Lemme see if I can find what I did...)

Did you go into your User CP, under notifications and see if anything has changed...suspect you already have checked that out but thought I would ask just in case...

Yeah I just actually went in again and turned them off by unchecking the boxes and turned them back on...again.  Done that several times now. 

Not sure what happened...it's weird.  It was just after that weird outage we had.

Did you open up a reply thread, and check the box in the additional options?  Could they have become unchecked and you just need to re check them again on the threads in question? No idea of course how they would have become unchecked though!

The answer to this is at the back of my mind, we had this happen a long time ago.....first though, are you receiving any notifications at all, for example, when someone reports a thread?  How about Tom, receiving any notifications?

I do remember an incidence a while back where the BW server was blacklisted by an isp as too many people had used a "delete & block" or "junk" option when receiving emails, instead of logging in to change their options.  If too many people send our emails to junk or block them, then the isp's will take notice.

Gareth you are brilliant - 'someone' never told me to check spam!  And guess what? That is where they all are.  Of course I should have looked there myself but I pretty much ignore the Spam folder in Gmail because it's normally spot on.

Good job we have some techies here that have a clue about computers unlike me eh!

(btw, google never blocked mine so I dunno why it started sending yours to spam)

And we're back :-)  Thank you Gareth!  I wonder what is up with Gmail blocking it...I never changed a thing in my email settings.  In fact I never did any settings for the Spam folder in there, I was just complacent about it being a good watchdog.  Bad doggie!
