4 hour Easy but at night not day:)
« on: March 15, 2010, 14:00:12 pm »
My LO is 4.5 months and for the last 3 weeks has been managing on a 4 hour Easy pretty much, although she often will have one feed at night it will replace the morning feed. Over the last few days she has switched to eating majority at 7.30pm/11DF/3am with one other big feed in the day and couple of snacks. She does have distraction issues (I struggle to feed her when out of the house) and also teething so wonder if combination? I'm not sure what to do but ride it out as I don't know if limiting at night will help. Also I am still only waking up once a night so can cope quite well although main annoyance is nappy changing in mid nigth. Anyone else experienced this?

Hi and bumping for you :)  Hoping some moms who have BTDT will be able to jump on with some tips!

FWIW, a dream feed plus one night feed is quite normal for this age.  It's also the age where babies get quite distracted (noticing the bright world around them ;)) so she may be feeding better at night because those distractions aren't there.  Have you tried feeding in her dark room right when she wakes from nap?  If you think teething might be a factor, have you tried meds before a feed?

Thanks. I think it's definately teething and once this phase abates I'm sure will
go back to normal :)  as you said distraction also a factor. Just glad she's eating though and
not on nursing strike. My milk supply been affected though now and have lots more from the huge night feeds!
