NO email notifications!! *16/5 still finally working again*!!

As opposed to Jo who appears to be getting 2 notifications for her boards, I am no longer getting any??!

Oh Angela, mine was a fault at my end, so i figured it out, sometimes I dont get notifications for particular posts either though, some have gone missing this week and only when i go and check on the thread do i see i havent been notified

This happened to me recently and they were all going into Spam.  I hadn't changed anything or any settings.  Check Junk or Spam just to be sure :-)

Same here Angela - I reset all my settings here, and ensured that my junk folder was not stealing my bw emails and nothing. Got a pm yesterday and nothing in my email!

Any thoughts, anyone?

I will try and work on this in the not-too-distant future, I haven't been home much the past week and I know that we have one or two others that are having this issue.

A little update.

I've been running a few tests this morning and the server is definitely sending out notifications as it should.  It seems that the most logical explanation so far is that isp's/email providers are filtering out emails that contain the webmaster@babywhisperer.com email address before they can even hit your spam/junk folders.  I will continue looking into it just to make sure

I don't have a spam/junk folder. I was receiving everything from here fine up until a few weeks ago. In fact I just checked, and the last notification I got from here was on 9th March. So nearly a month.

hey angela,

just thought i would help clarify since this was happening to me with some of my email unrelated to baby whisperer.  according to my computer geek dh the email service provider will sometimes tweak, change or update their spam and junk filters on their servers (the server that your email passes through on it's way to you).  the spam filter there may be catching it as junk and therefore not even delivering it to you - it explains why G is seeing it go out but you are not getting it.  not much you can do except perhaps contact your service provider to ask why you aren't receiving email from that particular address  when the sender can confirm it is being sent. 

(for us DH manages our filteres here because we host our own mail server, so he was able to reduce the settings a bit and also add some safe senders like bw)

quite often what triggers this is that enough people have clicked messages from a sender (ie/ BW) and ticked them as spam (perhaps people who came here a few times and clicked for email replies and got sick of the reply notifications for instance) and then that tells the internet service provider that it must be spam - and then it happens as you describe.

I am not getting my pm notifications either. Got is still a few weeks ago, probably 2 weeks, but yesterday nada, and I have made sure my account setting are to Always send email. Weird. Nothing in my spam/Junk either. Will ask DH to look on the server though.
