Hi there,

I was advised by my doc / HV to wean my son at 4 months.

The clinic had run out of weaning advice sheets and the HV said to just try doing what my baby felt happy with (!)

So anyway - This is our (normal) day.

7.00 wake and E - 6oz milk and bowl of baby porridge
9.00 Sleep
10.00 A (baby has always been a short napper - will not change!)
11.00 E +A 6oz milk and 5/6 ice cubes of veg and fruit with a little bit of unsweetened yoghurt if still hungry
12.00 S
13.00 A
15.00 6oz milk, Cauliflower Cheese or similar
Awake most of the afternoon with a cat nap some days about 16.00
18.30 E 6oz milk baby rice and fruit
19.00 Sleeps through to 07.00 most mornings sometimes 06.15.

So we are on 4 meals per day. Is this ok? How can I get him onto a 3 meal schedule?

You could cut the 3pm solids and give just milk and give a dinner time meal around 5pm whcih could be a main and pudding.  You could then just offer milk at 6.30pm as the bedftime milk feed.  I never really gave milk and food together as my lo's never had the capacity to take both at the same time.

Thanks! Will try - I have a little guzzler! Went off milk for a while just after we weaned but now seems to be happy drinking plenty! Only thing is he will be looking for some food after his milk but will give it a go and see how we get on!
